Keshia Knight Pulliam was born on April 9th, 1979 to Denise and James Pulliams, Sr. in Newark, New Jersey. She has three younger brothers. Keshia attended grade school at Rutgers Preparatory School (www.rutgersprep.org), a private, coeducational college preparatory day school in Somerset, New Jersey; Foxcroft School (www.foxcroft.org), an all-girls day and boarding school in Middleburg, Virginia; and Potomac School (www.potomacschool.org), an independent college preparatory school in McLean, Virginia. In 2001, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Spelman College (www.spelman.edu) in Atlanta, Georgia and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority (www.deltasigmatheta.org).
Keshia is best known for her role as Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show and is the youngest actress to ever be nominated for an Emmy when she was six years old. Her Emmy nomination was for Best Supporting Actress. Her role in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne earned her the 2009, 2010, and 2012 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
