Anna Chlumsky was born on December 3rd, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois to Nancy and Frank Chlumsky, Jr. In 1989, she started her career at age eight as a model. Although, Anna is best known for her role in My Girl as Vada Margaret Sultenfuss alongside McCauley Culkin of Home Alone fame. She took a break from acting between 1999 to 2005 so she could focus on her personal life. Anna graduated from Walther Lutheran High School (www.walther.com), a private high school in Melrose Park, Illinois which is eight miles or 30-minute drive from Chicago. Upon high school graduation, she attended the University of Chicago (www.uchicago.com) where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Once she graduated from college, she worked for the Zagat Survey (www.zagat.com) as a fact-checker. Anna was also an editorial assistant for HarperCollins (www.harpercollins.com) during her break from acting. She found her work unsatisfying and decided to seek formal training in acting at the Atlantic Acting School in Manhatten, New York. Anna returned to acting in 2007. She announced her engagement to Shaun So, a member of the Army Reserve, in October, 2007. On March 8th, 2008, the couple wed in Brooklyn, New York, and they welcomed a daughter into their lives in July, 2013.
